Have a Say - Make Decisions: Join a Committee!

Do you know how to communicate what you and your colleagues need in the workplace?  Are you aware of health and safety issues nobody is taking care of at your school? Wish you could participate in a workshop that gave you the training you really need to do your job better? Maybe you know who the next mayor should be.

You should be on a committee! UTNO Committees act on health and safety concerns in the workplace, elect politicians who are responsive to the needs of educators and students, ensure relevant professional development is offered, and find ways to best communicate the union’s message to members, potential members and the public.

Our union will be as strong as we make it. It takes the efforts of all members to build and maintain the strength of our union so everyone, school employees, students and the community, will enjoy a better quality of life. One of the ways this work gets done is in committees.

Our union needs you to be a part of the work it takes to ensure the voices of teachers and support personnel will be heard. Join a committee today and work with your professional colleagues to raise your voice for what’s right.

Follow this link to the UTNO Volunteer Committee Sign-up Sheet – sign up to make your voice heard on: The Health and Safety Committee, COPE (Committee on Political Education), Professional Development Committee, Human, Civil & Women’s Rights Committee, Community/Student Engagement, or Communications.

Only have a little bit of time? That’s OK – because every little bit helps!  Our voices and our efforts are greater than one. Your union needs you, and together, we can all make a bigger difference because we are always Better Together!
