Print E-mail
A new contract that gives all JPPSS teachers a raise and that improves, clarifies, and codifies working conditions is now in effect after being approved by teachers on October 6 and by the School Board the next day.

The three-year agreement includes an $800 salary increase over the first two years, with the possibility of another raise in the third year. The guaranteed raise is $300 added to the salary schedule this school year and payable in one installment on November 20, and an additional $500 added to the salary schedule in 2010-2011.

Among the other highlights is language covering the following areas:

  • Planning time and mandatory meetings
  • Equipment and teaching materials
  • Inclusion and mainstreaming
  • Student discipline
  • Student grades
  • Parent conferences
  • and many more

JFT urges all teachers to become familiar with the new provisions. Meetings are scheduled for mid-October to provide an in depth explanation of the new provisions to JFT Building Reps.
