Public Schools Week 2019

March 25 - March 29, 2019 is the 2nd annual Public Schools Week.

This week we take the time to celebrate our nation's public schools, our students, and the many teachers and school support staff who help our students and our communities reach their full potential.

A strong public education system is the bedrock of any successful society, so our public schools and public school educators must be cherished and supported. Our students deserve the chance to reach their full potential and in Louisiana, we need our legislators to support education by voting to fund it. This year we have the chance to increase public school funding in Louisiana by $140 million: $101 million for raises for teachers and support staff and $39 million for local school districts. It's not enough, but it's a start. This week, make sure your legislators hear from you:
