The Vietnam Veterans of America will recognize two Louisiana teachers for encouraging their students to develop values that portray Love of Country, Patriotism and appreciation for veterans and those currently serving in the military. Each recipient will receive a plaque and a $500 Award.
The deadline for nominations will be January 15, 2010. Teachers must be nominated by the principal of their school. The nomination package must include a letter stating why the teacher is being nominated, an information form and supporting documentation.
Supporting documentation should be organized similar to a portfolio and should include a description of program and/or project; audiovisual aids (CDs or DVDs), student work, photos and other items showing elements of the program/project;evidence of the evolution of the program/project (if the program/project has been developed over time).
